As part of the official opening celebration of the Maychew branch, 50kg of teff was distributed to each registered family. The banner at the entrance read: "Operation Rescue Ethiopia Maychew Child Care Project — Inauguration Opening Ceremony."
Local officials joined trustees, staff and families for a day that marked both a beginning and a fulfilment of years of prayer and planning. The children of Maychew now have a home.
