We received a deeply moving message filled with gratitude and hope: "Praise God for answered prayer. Greetings to you all from Mekelle, wishing you a blessed Ethiopian Easter holiday. It is my great joy to send you pictures celebrating with the children of ORE. It is almost more than two years since we had such a celebration with our children, due first to COVID-19 and then to the very devastating war. Today the children of ORE, grades 1 to 6, are back at school and celebrating together. It is really a big joy."
After years dominated by health crises, school closures, and conflict, seeing our young students in grades 1 through 6 return to their classrooms and gather for Easter celebrations represents a profound milestone of resilience and restoration. The sound of children's laughter and shared holiday meals in Mekelle serves as a powerful reminder that light and community endure through the darkest seasons. We rejoice alongside our Mekelle team, our children, and their families during this blessed Easter holiday, holding tight to the renewed hope and peace now taking root in their lives.
